A Journey on Paper: Don Quixote’s Literary Adventure

Chinese original:

紙上征途:吉訶德大人的文學冒險

This year marks 410 years since Cervantes died and 400 years since Taiwan and Spain first met. Through old books, prints and objects, the exhibition rereads the windmills, Dulcinea and Sancho of Don Quixote, and looks back at Cervantes's own life. The second half turns to Taiwan: the Japanese translations of the colonial period, and the ties between the book and writers such as Long Ying-zong and Chang Hsiao-feng. It is co-organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature and Spanish institutions including the Cervantes birthplace and house museums.
