The Unfamiliar Within the Familiar

A solo show by Jang Hyejin. Rather than copy what is in front of her, she paints the time and memory laid over it, so the objects and landscapes in her pictures look familiar yet slightly different. Light sometimes sharpens a form and sometimes blurs its edges, and color calls up sensations beyond what is visible. Each work starts from a concrete shape and gradually leaves an atmosphere that is hard to explain. At Gallery Sejul in Pyeongchang-dong, closed Sundays.
