Permanent and special exhibitions
常設展與特展
Many museums distinguish long-running permanent displays from separately curated special exhibitions.
01About
A permanent exhibition does not mean that its works never change. The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts presents a long-running collection display in three rotations, while the Taipei Fine Arts Museum uses both “collection permanent exhibition” and “collection special exhibition.” A special exhibition therefore need not rely only on loans: it can also select from one museum's collection to make a different theme.

Compare the selection, grouping, and sequence on each side, then ask what theme those choices bring forward.

Compare how permanent and special exhibitions build a path through works.
If the same works were grouped differently, what would you notice changing?
