Futura Seoul opened in Bukchon in September 2024; its name is the Latin word for "future." The building was designed by Baek Jong-hwan of WGNB on a 1,155 m² site with 995.70 m² of floor area: one zone is divided into a lobby, rear garden, courtyard, terrace and rooftop garden, the other is a single main hall with a 10.8 m ceiling. The rear garden keeps 50-year-old trees and rocks and borrows the scenery outside its windows (the idea of chagyeong); in 2025 the building won the top prize at the 43rd Seoul Metropolitan Architecture Awards. It stages one in-house exhibition a year and rents the space out at other times, with all rental income going to the in-house show.
