The 2026 Asia-Pacific Traditional Arts Festival took water as its theme and ran at the National Center for Traditional Arts' Yilan Park from 3 to 11 October 2026, with troupes from India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The programme included Izumo kagura, performed by Hamada Iwami Kagura Shachu as Orochi, the Korean dance company Shin Eun-ju Dance's Welcoming Water, and the Taiwanese opera troupe Li Ching-fang's Chen Jinggu Quells the Demons by the Water. The park also offered hands-on workshops and a Thai water-lantern ritual at dusk; tickets were required for the indoor theatres.
